Cali Trip 2010

Back in April we took a trip to San Diego, before all of the summer craziness! We headed out Tuesday afternoon hoping it would be a quick trip. After many stops later and plenty of screaming....we made it. The older boys were fine, Boston was sick with a high fever so he made the trip super fun :)
We had a good nights rest and woke up Wed morning, got ready and headed to Sea World. We took one step outside and it was pouring rain. It was oddly sunny outside so we figured it would clear up and it did. We payed for parking, tickets, and rented a stroller. I thought it would be fun to see the Sea Lion and Otter show, we had the perfect seats and just as they bring out the Sea Lion...down comes the rain, again. We were soaked head to toe and so was the stroller. Normally we wouldn't have cared being wet but i still had a sick boy with a fever. So, we were in and out of Sea World in 45 min. We grabbed some lunch and the rain cleared again. Oh well. We took the kids over to Belmont Park which was closed so we walked over to the beach and let them play in the sand before it started pouring again. We spent the rest of that rainy day eating out, hanging in our hotel room, watching movies and driving around. Thursday we drove up to Del Mar and took the kids to Torrey Pines Reserve Beach, which was a few miles from our new hotel. It was overcast but beautiful...Bos man was still sick.

Friday we went to Legoland, we had so much fun! Bos was feeling good, the day was perfect.

Saturday we went back to Sea World and had even more fun than the day before!

We had to sit in the splash zone at the Shamu show!

Here was the food we got at a McDonalds in Del Mar...glass plates..metal forks..fancy. They had a chef and everything.

Families are Forever

About a month ago my beautiful cousin passed away. She was only a few years younger than me. We grew up together and she was one of my best friends through high school. I have so many memories with that girl that I will never forget. Death is a hard thing. I was having a sad day when one of my friends stopped by to see me. Her family experienced a similar loss recently and she knew just what to say. As she was leaving, there was this momma duck walking across the grass with her 10 baby ducklings! It made me smile. The boys came outside and we followed her around for a while.

I am grateful for the atonement and my Savior. I am grateful for friends. I know that I will see her again and that families are forever!

the pool

Our pool was pretty nasty this winter. Everything that could possibly need replaced, needed replaced. Everything stopped working all at once. I never wanted to open our blinds in the back because I had to look at "the swanp." Seriously. I was so embarassed. We finally drained it once we could and once everything was fixed we filled it back up! It was pretty weird looking at a big hole in our yard. I thought it would make a nice skate ramp! Too bad the boys dont skate. They did enjoy it while we filled it back up. It was Feb so it was really cold but they could care less.

They swim in it almost everyday now!
